- Our thought life brings victory or defeat, blessings or curses.
Beloved, victory comes when we refuse to allow any thoughts that do not line up with the Word of God, to form our thinking.
We must continually take authority over every aspect of our hearts and minds – our thoughts, desires, emotions, intentions – and bring them under control of the Holy Spirit. This renewing of our minds must be a continual daily process. As we fill our minds with the knowledge of Christ – His will, thoughts, desires, and purposes – and bring our hearts and minds into submission to the Holy Spirit, we are being renewed:
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
Paul said, …Be renewed in the spirit of your mind (Ephesians 4:23). The “spirit” of your mind refers to thoughts, attitudes, and desires. It is the portion of your mind which brings you into fellowship with Christ and directs its energies toward pleasing God and fulfilling His will.
To be renewed in the “spirit of your mind,” you must fill your thoughts with God’s Word and meditate on it continually – day and night – until the Word becomes an integral part of your life – until your thoughts, desires, intentions, and purposes are continually being transformed and molded into Christ’s image.
As your mind is renewed daily, and you go out into battle against Satan armed with the victorious mind of Christ, you will not be defeated, regardless of the circumstances you face. Armed with the victorious mind of Christ, you will not be worried or fearful, and you will not become weary or faint in your mind. You will be strong, immovable, and victorious over every attack, every obstacle, and every circumstance Satan may try to use against you.
The apostle Paul told us:
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
II Corinthians 10:4-5
Beloved, if we will dare to do exactly this – take every thought captive – victory can’t help but find us and overtake us, bringing abundance of healing, financial provision, and every other need met.
Say this faith declaration out loud: Lord, I will no longer allow the devil to have access to my mind. I will take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, so that my thoughts line up with Your will. Victory is mine! Amen!
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I Corinthians 15:57
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Ephesians 6:13, 17
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
II Timothy 1:7
